World Cup 2014 will kick off in Sao Paulo and will end in Rio de Janeiro.
Fifa’s president, Sepp Blatter, has painted Brazil as a country of joy and celebration where football is the beating heart. President of the Brazilian Football Confederation for 22 years, Ricardo Teixeira, released details of the 2014 host cities and stadiums. The 20th edition of the Fifa World Cup will begin in Sao Paulo on Thursday, June 12, 2014. The opening match will kick off at 17:00 local time (20:00 GMT). 12 Brazilian cities will host the 2014 World Cup. FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke said teams will play in any of the 12 cities. The tournament field will be split into eight groups of four teams. The semi-finals will be played on July 8 and July 9 in Belo Horizonte and Sao Paulo. The final will be held at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 16:00 local time (19:00 GMT).
