Moto rider Marco Simoncelli dies after horrific crash during the Malaysian GP in Sepang.
The 24-year-old Italian rider lost control of his Honda at turn 11 four minutes into the race. He was flung from his bike and skidded across the track, before apparently being hit by competitors Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. Simoncelli’s death comes exactly a week after British racing driver Dan Wheldon, a former IndyCar champion and two-time Indy 500 race winner. 33-year-old Dan was killed in a 15-car pile-up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In Italy, there was a minute of silence before all football matches and players wore black armbands as a tribute to the young rider.
