The Golden Raspberry ceremony organizers moving their awards ceremony back to April Fool’s Day in order to emphasize the comedic nature of the kudofest.
Founded by lifelong cine-maniac and cynic John Wilson, the Razzies are a “light-hearted parody of award shows in general and The Oscars in particular.” Razzie Aword have traditionally been awarded the day before the Oscars. Organisers said moving the awards would allow its voting members more time “to see the drek they will eventually nominate”. According to the predictions, the frontrunner for nominations include the critically reviled Adam Sandler comedy “Jack and Jill”. Nominations to be unveiled in “Oscar Eve” Press Conference, Sat. Feb. 25 in Santa Monica.
