The new Nike+ FuelBand is joining the ranks of wearable fitness trackers.
The sporting-goods maker launched its NikeFuel measurement, a metric that the company says measures any activity equally. Nike+ FuelBand measures the number of steps you’ve taken and the amount of calories you’ve burned, but relies on the NikeFuel metric, which appears to basically monitor your arm movements to compel you to be more active. Following a press conference that Nike held to unveil the device, the company took the media on a little field trip to test out the FuelBand in a variety of activities. The FuelBand can be preordered beginning Thursday, and it will be available for purchase on Feb. 22, retailing for $149.
