Christies to auction Elizabeth Taylor’s iconic jewelry collection.
Elizabeth Taylor build up one of the most remarkable and dazzling private collections of jewellery ever created. It was announced on Wednesday that the late actress’s entire collection of 300 pieces, valued at $30million (£18.8million), will be auctioned at Christie’s in New York in December. There will be diamonds, pearls, emeralds, rubies and sapphires; rings, earrings, necklaces, brooches, tiaras and more. Collection includ 33.19 carat diamond ring and a 16th century pear-shaped pearl from one of her seven husbands, Richard Burton. He purchased it for Taylor in 1969 as a Valentine’s Day gift. The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation will reportedly receive a portion of the profits from the sale.
