Since 1997 every July in Austria takes place one of the world’s most colorful festivals.
Bodypaint City is located in the town Pörtschach, the most impressive location in the state surrounded by turquoise water.
Over 200 artists from 40 countries were showing off their creations in the hope of taking home a prestigious World Award.
Artists from more than 40 nations compete for the World Champion titles in categories brush/sponge, airbrush, special effects, UV effects, facepainting and some special awards.
The 2012 World Bodypainting Festivals winner became Kristina Elizarova as the new UV Effects World Champion. Magdalena O’Conner earned second place honors and Wolf Reicherter won the third place award.
Each year the festival keeps getting better and better, and the designs are getting more and more innovative.
