The bridge, which crosses the Morova river into Austria, may name after Chuck Norris.
The capital city of Bratislava has been in search of a name for its upcoming cross-border bridge with the Austrian village of Schlosshof that will span the Morava River and its name has been put up for an Internet vote. Norris is a martial arts expert and famous film star who has, throughout his career, built a reputation for playing tough guy characters in movies including “Lone Wolf McQuade”, “Missing in Action” and “The Delta Force”. The final decision will be made by the regional assembly but officials have said that the internet ballot’s decision will be respected. The voting will run until April. As of Thursday, 1,157 votes have backed Norris, 74 percent of the total, leaving the runner up “Maria Theresa Bridge” far behind with 8 percent.
