Nokia sponsors to roll out free Wi-Fi in certain areas of London.

The launch of free Wi-Fi in London have been announced by Nokia and Spectrum Interactive. Mobile internet will be available at 26 street hotspots across the capital. The access is truly free, users do not need to sign up for an account, or identify themselves. Download speeds however will be restricted to 1MB/S per user for downloads and 500KB/s for uploads. The trial period of free Wi-Fi access will be available from 1 November until the end of 2011. If the trial proves successful, Nokia plans a large-scale rollout across London in early 2012.
