La Tomatina is a festival that is held in the Valencian town of Buñol, in which participants throw tomatoes at each other.
It is held the last Wednesday in August, during the week of festivities of Buñol. 120.000 kilos of tomatoes were quickly turned into puree in the Tomatina tomato-throwing festival in the town of Buñol in Spain. Tens of thousands of people took part as plum tomatoes covered walls and bodies to the enjoyment of all concerned.
