Kathryn Bigelow to make bin Laden movie.
Kathryn Bigelow, the Oscar-winning director of The Hurt Locker, has revealed that she is working on a movie about the hunt for Osama bin Laden and has, in fact, been for some time. The film, currently casting under the working title “To Kill Bin Laden”, is based on an earlier unsuccessful mission to assassinate the Al Qaeda leader who was killed by Navy SEALs (Sea, Air and Land) in Pakistan on Sunday. While it was known that Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal – who also worked on “The Hurt Locker” – had been planning a film about the hunt for the elusive fugitive for some time, news that they were honing in on the elite unit has come as a surprise.
