Beyonce Knowles gave birth to her and Jay-Z’s child, named Ivy Blue Carter.
Baby is the first child for Beyonce and her rapper husband Jay-Z, who married in April 2008. The Houston Chronicle and the E! network are reporting that Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl Saturday night at Lenox Hill Hospital after a scheduled C-section. R&B superstar checked into the hospital under the name Ingrid Jackson and rented out an entire floor for $1.3 million. Beyonce announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards and had to suffer a string of controversies in its wake, including rumors her pregnancy was fake and a surrogate mother was involved. Rihanna was among the first to celebrate the couple’s new arrival, taking to Twitter.com to post, “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.”
