New President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard became former eBay CEO.
Former eBay CEO and candidate for California governor Meg Whitman was named Hewlett-Packard’s new chief executive. “I am honored and excited to lead HP. I believe HP matters – it matters to Silicon Valley, California, the country and the world.” Whitman said in a statement. She was eBay online auction president and chief executive officer from 1998 to 2008. Under her leadership eBay has become from a small company with only a few dozen employees and marginal revenue to multi-billion dollar business. It made her one of just 14 self-made billionaires in the world. Now Whitman replace Leo Apotheker and as the head of HP isn’t going to lead to a major change of course.
